SUCCESS!   HOW TO DONATE    THANK YOU DONORS   COOKIE JAR

Greetings from California!!

I wanted to update Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue on Miss Daisy:

My husband and I have adopted and fostered wonderful dogs from The Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue in the Sacramento area. We currently have 2 beautiful Goldens and felt we were ready to adopt a third (just not enough dog hair in the house, apparently!). We decided an older girl would be the right blend with our girls and know that they are sometimes challenging to place. During my visit to HBGRR last Saturday, (the amazing and dedicated) Jody Jones suggested that I meet Daisy - and are we glad we did!!

During our meeting with Daisy, Judy, our wonderful and trusted HBGRR friend, explained that there is a grant funded program that relocates older dogs from rescues in other states. I was surprised to learn that Daisy was from Georgia (you can barely detect the southern accent in her bark). Right way she fit in with the other 2 (who were with me as the ultimate judges, of course). During our meeting, she exhibited to the right blend of paying attention to the dogs, the people and her own needs.

I had no idea how perfectly she would fit with our family! After testing the waters, the 3 girls eat together, walk on leashes together (in formation!), sleep together, play together and are just comfortable "hanging out" with the family. Daisy has the sweetest temperament and very quickly has won over our hearts!

When we got Daisy home, I looked at her tag and it said "Low Country GR". I "googled" it and found you! It was so exciting to show all my friends and family your website, her photo (under "adoptable goldens") and tell her wonderful story. I never miss an opportunity to talk about Rescues and Golden Retrievers (the perfect combination - as far as I’m concerned!).

Her story, although not as dramatic as the hundreds of stories about rescued Goldens, both happy and heart-wrenching, definitely has a happy ending. I hope you are pleased that her journey has landed her in a loving home. Our family sincerely thanks you for sending Daisy to us and for all the wonderful work that you do!

In sincerest appreciation,

Eileen & Dave

Hi Ellen and Dave, I can not thank you enough for letting us know that you adopted Daisy. The foster mom and the Rescue was very sad to see her go to CA but we wanted her to find a fabulous forever home and could not be happier she found her home with you and Molly and Bailey. She is such a wonderful girl and it's very special to be able to see who has adopted her. Please keep us updated on how she is doing and thank you again for giving her a second chance for a wonderful life. Give our sweet girl a hug for us and tell her we love her and how happy we are for her.

Sincerely,
Linda Rogerson
